Colombian director and writer. Born in Guateque, Boyacá. I live in Barcelona. My work moves between fiction film, literary narrative and the essay, in constant dialogue with Lacanian psychoanalysis, contemporary philosophy and the question of what artificial intelligence is doing to human experience.
PhD in Social Studies from Universidad Externado de Colombia. A second doctorate in Comparative Literature at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, on Beckett, Borges and Céline through Lacanian ordinary psychosis and AI; I abandoned it because the research needed to become films instead of more theses. Postdoctoral work in Critical Theory. Academic publications indexed in SCOPUS.
I run Rumbo a Peor Films, an independent production collective in Barcelona. The name comes from Beckett and stands for a programme of absolute rigour with whatever resources there are, without waiting for anyone’s permission. Short films selected at festivals in Stockholm, Navarra, Ahmedabad, Los Angeles, Bogotá and Barcelona.

I have published three books, El Maluverso (Calixta Editores, 2023), Más Allá de la Loma and De Rumba en la 51. MADLL was submitted to the Premio Juan Goytisolo and the Premio Biblioteca Breve Seix Barral.
I am now working on my most ambitious novel, ¿Mami me volví loco? (or Chronicle of a Millennial Apocalypse). Three narrative lines interweave a post-apocalyptic Colombia where the revolution happens on TikTok, a dystopian world of virtual reality capsules, and a writer locked in his mother’s house who writes her letters while artificial intelligence invades the text he is trying to compose. An epistolary and metafictional work, deeply Latin American.
The conceptual framework that articulates all of my work. It has three components. Post-existentialism (we inherit existentialism’s crisis of meaning, but AI, algorithms and digital culture have fragmented the subject). Psychotic (Lacanian ordinary psychosis, the contemporary condition in which symbolic anchors fail, far from any individual pathology). Tropical (the Latin American precarity that invents forms of creative survival without waiting for metropolitan permission).
